ENTWINED
The Event
During our time in isolation, many of us found some new hobbies to keep ourselves busy & engaged, such as painting, cooking and crocheting. Simultaneously, during this time we inevitably experienced loneliness due to the constant separation from society. Our goal is to transform these new found hobbies into opportunities for building supportive communities. The experience of coming together to physically create something as a group has been largely absent from our interactions over the past year, and our project aims to patch up that hole.
The Film
A slow-paced narrative work wherein the actor will be crocheting while storytelling. Participants will take their crochet directives from the person on screen. Events will consist of the film being played on a loop for several hours, allowing participants to work at their own pace. Whether you watch it once or three times is up to you!
Once the event series has concluded, the blanket segments will be stitched together to create one finished work. The blanket will be displayed in galleries in the countries where the film was shown, and subsequently donated.

The Finance
We are endeavouring to keep our project environmentally friendly and accessible to everyone by incorporating crowdsourced donations into our finished work. When participants sign up for the event, they are invited to contribute any excess yarn they may have around the house. Admissions will be pay-what-you-can, with a suggested donation of 5-10 dollars being set in order to cover labour and materials costs.
Keeping admissions fees minimal and flexible is important to us so that everybody will be able to join in on the fun! Our community building philosophy centers around the sharing of passions, hobbies and ideas, not who can afford to participate.
The Entwined Team

Isabelle is a third year at X University in Toronto, Canada. She is studying Creative Industries, specializing in Media Business and Storytelling. She focused on developing the website for Entwined.
Lisa is a second year student at Amsterdam Fashion Institute in The Netherlands and one of the creators of Entwined. She focused mostly on the image design and event descriptions.
Holly is a fourth year acting student at X University in Toronto, Canada and is one of the creators of Entwined. Their role within the project is creative consultant and director of the Entwined film.
Sarah is a third year student at X University in Toronto, Canada. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, majoring in Creative Industries. Sarah works as a part of Entwined on their PR team.
